Project Planning Intensive™

Overview:

A Project Planning Intensive is the most effective way to plan the next phase of product development, or to get a troubled project back on track. S2insight will work with your technical leads to define a sequence of product prototypes that proves out your design while achieving targeted technical risk reduction.

Then, in just a few days, we will take your entire team through a process to build a fully integrated schedule spanning all functions, with the prototype sequence as key integration points. The resulting schedule is then fully optimized to hit your business targets. The result is a trackable, manageable plan and an energized team that is accountable for results.

Project Chartering Intensive™

Overview:

The Project Chartering Intensive is a fast and an effective way to kick-off a new project by establishing a set of business, product, and project targets captured in the Project Charter document. These targets can include key elements of the business case, key product features, IP positioning and licensing, measurable success criteria, resource estimates, and the duration of each project phase. 

By engaging the project team directly in creating the targets, chartering generates cross-functional buy-in, and a greater commitment to project goals.

  • Key elements of the Business Case (e.g., target markets, competition, pricing)

  • Product scope and requirements (both in and out of scope)

Risks are the potential threats to a project’s success, and every project involves some degree of risk. But too often, risks are ignored until they occur. After a discussion of risk concepts, S2insight will facilitate a systematic analysis of risks and associated response plans for the project.

Typical Work Sessions:

  • Reviewing the language of risk management.

  • Reviewing the project’s objectives and scope.

  • Developing a project-specific Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS).

  • Identifying and assessing risks – which risks demand attention.

  • Developing a risk response plan for significant risks – avoidance, transference, mitigation, and contingency planning.

  • Discussing how to monitor and control risks.

Requirements Development Intensive™

Developing products that delight customers starts with an understanding of customers’ needs. While many organizations do invest in getting customer insights (e.g. Voice of Customer), they often struggle turning these often vague and conflicting insights into requirements.

S2insight can help your project team translate and transform your customer insights into actionable customer and product requirements. Through one or more workshops, S2insight will facilitator your cross-functional team to not only quickly derive and document customer and product requirements, but to also gain an intimate understanding of user needs and how those needs may be met by a product solution.

Use Case Development Intensive™

While Use Cases have been an integral part of software development practices for decades, they have much broader applicability.

 

Use Cases are an excellent tool to describe any interaction a User may have with a Product from installation, sample prep, normal operation, maintenance, etc. Use Cases allow a product team to define dynamic requirements very early in the development process.

S2insight can facilitate your cross-functional product development team to identify and define high-impact use cases that inform the product design (not just software!).

Typical Work Sessions:

  • Review of existing user needs and customer requirements.

  • Deriving initial context diagram, users/actors, and other systems.

  • Creating a use case map and identifying high-impact use cases.
